Prior to activating the DT Max security system, you must designate a staff member as the DT Max system supervisor. This must be someone whom you trust completely because they will be assigned full rights to DT Max and will be responsible for setting up the security system, defining the users' respective access levels and allocating user ID's and initial passwords.

In order to be fully efficient and reliable, the system supervisor must clearly understand

  • how DT Max works

  • how the security system works

  • how the firm wants DT Max to be used

More specifically, the system supervisor will be responsible for the following, among others:

  • implementing DT Max efficiently at the firm

  • downloading and installing new versions of DT Max

  • customizing the program according to the preferences of the firm

  • backing up the DT Max database regularly

  • restoring the DT Max database when necessary

  • managing setup files

  • reindexing the database when required

  • making sure that client numbers are unique even if the firm uses multiple databases

  • acting as the contact person when requesting support from DT Tax and Accounting

Since the status of system supervisor entails the highest access level, DT Max makes sure that at least one system supervisor is designated as such, if passwords are mandatory, so that no one can ever be locked out of the program.

DT Max allows for more than one person to be assigned as system supervisor.
